Ask your own figures a question

Ask answers from your own records for free. Smart answers need your own AI provider key, and you pay that provider directly.

Ask is a plan feature. If your sidebar does not show it, your plan does not carry it: open Billing and Subscription, then Change plan, and the screen names the plan that includes it. The pricing page compares all four plans.

Ask has two tabs, and the difference is worth understanding before you use it.

  • Counted from your records. Free, always available, and the figure is a total rather than an opinion. It runs a real count over your own sales, stock and payments.
  • Written by a model. A language model reads the same records and writes the answer. You supply the key and pay your provider directly.

Every answer carries a badge saying which of the two produced it, so you always know whether you are reading a count or a piece of writing.

Open Ask in the sidebar. Pick one of the shortcut tiles, or start typing in the box marked Type a question and choose from what comes up. That list is everything Stockovaa can answer, so if nothing matches what you typed, clear the box to see all of them.

History opens a drawer of what you have asked. You can delete an entry from there.

You need an account and an API key with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini. Stockovaa never resells tokens and never adds a markup, so your provider bills you directly.

  • Settings, then AI provider.
  • Tick Smart answers are on. With this off, Ask still works and only the free text box goes away.
  • Choose the Provider, then the Model. A smaller model is cheaper and usually enough for a business question.
  • Paste your key into API key. Where to get a key opens your provider's own console.
  • Press Test the key, then Save.

This screen holds an API key, so it is kept separate from asking questions. A role that can use Ask does not automatically get to see or change the key.

The tab tells you why in one sentence. It is one of four things: no provider chosen, no key stored, the provider refused the key, or smart answers are not part of your plan. The first three are fixed on the AI provider screen.

If the provider refused the key, the test result shows your provider's own error rather than a generic one, which is usually enough to tell whether it is expired, revoked or simply mistyped.
