About the role

Our mobile app is React Native on Expo, and it shares an API with the web platform. The hard part is not the screens. It is that a shop in a market with two bars of signal still has to take a payment and reconcile later.

What you will do

  • Build and ship features in the React Native application.
  • Own the offline behaviour: local storage, queuing and conflict resolution on sync.
  • Keep the app fast on the inexpensive Android hardware most of our users carry.
  • Work with the API team on contracts before they are built, not after.
  • Handle store releases for both platforms.

What we are looking for

  • Three or more years in React Native or Flutter, with apps you can point at.
  • You have built genuine offline first behaviour, not just a cache.
  • Comfortable debugging on real low end devices.
  • TypeScript by default.

Nice to have

  • Expo and EAS experience.
  • You have integrated a payment terminal or a receipt printer.
